RPL Opportunities

For experienced professionals, we offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which allows students to have their existing skills recognised and credited towards the qualification. This streamlined approach, combined with blended learning options, enables students to upskill in specific units while having their current business competencies acknowledged.

BSB30120 Certificate III in Business is ideal for job seekers and people whose working role encompasses elements of business, administration and organisation. This includes educators, customer service and retail staff, small business owners and volunteers.

This is an ideal qualification to complete as a work-based Traineeship - Earn while you LEARN!  Traineeships are funded through the SAS User Choice program. The QLD government contributes towards the cost of training for eligible trainees. So, instead of paying the full cost of training, trainees or their employers will pay a reduced amount.

When you finish BSB30120 Certificate III in Business course, you’ll be able to:

  • Apply WHS requirements in the workplace
  • Operate business equipment and access resources
  • Maintain business records and organise information
  • Support operational plans, systems and processes
  • Design and produce business documents using various software and apps
  • Organise personal work priorities and development
  • Coordinate schedules and tasks
  • Communicate with others and work in a team

  1. Work-based Training and Assessment  (Traineeships)

    This pathway involves trainees completing work-related training and assessment activities.  Work-based training and assessment combine face-to-face and/or online training with self-paced activities to reinforce learning. Trainer visits and student support whilst in their training periods.

  2. Live Class

    i) Group workshop with a trainer to support and guide you through activities. Ask us for scheduled course dates at locations convenient to you.

    ii)  We can also come to your workplace and deliver a customised program to meet your workplace needs (Minimum numbers apply. Contact us to discuss your particular needs).

  3. Blended Learning 
    This is a flexible and efficient way to complete your qualification.  It may include live classes, online study, self-paced activities and webinars.
     
  4. Online
    The entire course is offered electronically through our Learning Management System.
     
  5. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
    Recognition of Prior Learning is the process that is used to recognise the skills and knowledge you have acquired through personal and work experience - the "University of Life". The evidence you provide is matched to a complete qualification where possible or alternatively, to part of a qualification. A successful RPL application means that you could receive certification without further study or may be able to fast-track through a qualification. Please contact us to organise an individual assessment of your current knowledge and skills.

This course is designed for people interested in acquiring foundational business skills, ranging from technical to teamwork and process to innovation.  It is therefore an ideal qualification for individuals who wish to work in a broad spectrum of industries and occupations.

A good command of written English and the ability to allocate appropriate study hours each week.

You have 6-24 months from course commencement to complete this qualification, or up to 24 months if it is undertaken as a traineeship.

To complete this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in a total of 13 units, of which 6 are core and 7 are electives. Two electives must be selected from Group A, and one elective must be selected from Group B.

Your learning resources will include:

During your studies, you will need access to the following:

Assessment is a combination of:

  • Knowledge questions
  • Case studies and Projects
  • Practical Activities

If you successfully complete this qualification you could continue your studies in higher level business qualifications within the VET or university sectors.
