BSB30120
Certificate III in Business (Medical Administration)
Blueprint’s medical administration stream gives senior school students a real introduction to working in a medical practice, while they’re still at school.
Students learn the everyday work of a busy general practice: greeting and booking patients, handling accounts and Medicare billing, keeping accurate records, and protecting patient privacy. They practise it inside Riverbend Family Medical Centre — a fully simulated Australian practice — so they build confidence in a realistic setting without ever handling real patient information.
It’s a nationally recognised qualification that develops skills students carry anywhere: clear communication, attention to detail, working as part of a team, and knowing when and how to ask for help. Students are never asked to give medical advice — the focus is the administration and people skills that keep a practice running.
For many students, it’s a practical first step toward a career in healthcare administration, reception or office support — and a qualification that holds its value whichever direction they choose.
Senior secondary school students (Year 11/12) who want a practical introduction to working in a medical practice, while still at school.
It's equally suited to job seekers and anyone whose role touches on business, administration and organisation — including educators, customer service and retail staff, small business owners and volunteers.
This is also an ideal qualification to complete as a work-based Traineeship — earn while you learn. Traineeships are funded through the Queensland Government's Career Start program, delivered through Skills Assure Suppliers. The Queensland Government contributes towards the cost of training for eligible trainees, so instead of paying the full cost, trainees (or their employers) pay a reduced amount.
