Samantha Blaber Wins Gold at WorldSkills Regional VETiS Food & Beverage Competition!
At Blueprint Career Development, we take great pride in the achievements of our students, and today, we are so excited to celebrate the incredible success of Calamvale Community College’s Year 11 student, Samantha Blaber! Samantha has blown us away with her brilliant talent and dedication, and as a result, has earned the Gold Medal at the prestigious WorldSkills Regional VETiS Food & Beverage Competition.
We now eagerly await confirmation of whether she has qualified for the 2025 National WorldSkills Competition at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
To top it off, Samantha competed alongside her classmate, Persia Ruatara, who also delivered an outstanding performance, securing a Top 8 finish. Both students showed unwavering commitment with several weeks of intensive training outside of school hours, sharpening their skills in preparation for the competition.
Samantha’s victory was officially recognised at a medal ceremony at Southbank TAFE, where she was joined by: Leah Cremen – Hospitality Teacher/Trainer and Erin Peters – Employer at RNA Showgrounds.
To top it all off, both Samantha and Persia had the incredible opportunity to meet Elliana McRae, Australia’s current Skillaroo for Restaurant Service, who recently represented the country at the WorldSkills Lyon Competition, earning a Medallion for Excellence. Meeting an industry leader like Elliana further fuels their aspirations and showcases the heights that dedicated students can reach!
